D.V.M.’s swan song seeks to evoke a loosely conceptual journey from hubris to nemesis, a voyage not unlike the one Lovecraft’s accursed Abdul Alhazred undertook when he divulged forbidden secrets in his Necronomicon at great cost. Throughout the album’s course, a conjurer’s aspiration to transcendence leads him further and further
